The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. SiS Youth Home Klarälvsgården receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, as well as criminality and substance abuse. We have the mandate to receive boys with an increased need for psychiatric interventions.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing differences for vulnerable people? Then the job as a Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our young people/clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in the stability and security of our young people/clients, and provide the foundation for daily life such as (school attendance), cleaning, cooking, etc. You contribute to maintaining order and security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to our young people/clients receiving the security and safety they need to break habitual behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to schedule: day - evening and weekends.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You must have:

• Completed and approved upper secondary education
• Category B driver's license
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing, as the work may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities
• Experience in youth-oriented work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB (residential care) operations, or from care and nursing.
• At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or university college (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*

*Exceptions to the requirement of at least two years of post-secondary education can be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

Meritorious:

• Experience working with our target group, boys aged 16-21.

The position is a fixed-term employment.
